Following on from our very successful first CIYMS Mini Rugby Festival
last year it gives me great pleasure to welcome Ards, Ballyclare, Ballymena,
As with last year’s event the main aim is for the kids to have fun and
we hope that the weather will be a lot kinder to us this time. We would also
ask that all players, coaches and supporters follow the codes of conduct as per
the IRFU guidelines so that everyone can enjoy the weekend’s rugby. We managed
to achieve this at the festival last year and I am sure this year will be no
different.
In case of injury we have a rapid response ambulance ready as well as three
qualified doctors.
We will supply refreshments to all the players but also have tea/coffee
and snacks available for purchase for all spectators.
The main theme for the festival is pink as you will see and this is to
help raise awareness and money for cancer and as such we are working
closely with McMillan Cancer. Please give generously.
Finally thanks to the CIYMS Mini Rugby Family who have yet again come
out in force to support the festival and showcase
Keith
O’Donnell

Please
note that CIYMS RFC has very limited car parking facilities
and parking restrictions will be in place on the Circular Road on both
days of the Festival.
We recommend therefore parking at Ashfield Boys School which has plenty of
available space and is only 5 minutes walk away. Stewards will be available to
direct you there
Please see here to download details of available parking in the area.
While the main focus of the Festival is on rugby, we also plan to have other activities for those not playing (and those who are playing!).
Hot and cold drinks to purchase.
We will also have an official photographer on site,
who will be selling action shots that are taken over the 2 days of the Festival.
But its not just financial help that is needed - we would also like to hear from anyone who can make themselves available on either or both days to assist with:
-managing car parking.
-preparing and serving food
-charity collection
-supervising off-field activities like face painting.
-preparation of team resource packs and programmes for the match days.
If you feel you are able to help in any way, please contact
This event would not be possible without the generous assistance of our sponsors.
